Bolton Wanderers
Founded: 1874
Ground: Reebok Stadium, Bolton
Manager: Gary Megson
Bolton Wanderers enjoyed some cup glory back in the old days, but its no more than a distant memory when the team played in the old Fourth Division. A nice comeback saw Bolton return to the top two divisions, bouncing up and down, until Sam Allardyce was appointed.
Big Sam transformed Bolton to a top-half club, with a historic UEFA Cup campaign under his leadership.
Due to this, his departure came as a blow to the Trotters, which almost cost them their place in the Premier League. Luckily, Gary Megson managed to guide Bolton to safety one week before the season was over and now he can calmly get his side ready for some new challenges. A lot lies on the shoulders of new signing Johan Elmander, as Bolton found it difficult to score since Nicolas Anelka's departure in the January transfer window.
Bottom Line: It will be hard to survive without scoring. Megson will have to bring some quality midfielders and strikers.
